ObedienceUK Fund
For
'The Financial Support of Dogs and their Handlers in Times of Need'.
The ObedienceUK email list set this fund up in memory of Janet Farrar,
who needed our help re-homing her dogs when she found her cancer had returned
with a vengeance. Sadly, Jan lost her fight in March 2004, after knowing
her dogs had all been successfully re-homed with friends through the list.
Our aim is to help handlers and their dogs when times are hard.
To contribute to the fund, please pop your change into the tin or bucket
you will see at various Obedience Shows, or send a cheque direct to:
Jane Ellen, The Stables, Chalk Lane, Sutton Bridge,
Lincs. PE12 9YF
Phone: 01406 - 351 747
Make the cheque payable to: The ObedienceUK Fund
(not to me).
If you email jane-ellen@tiscali.co.uk
I will send you the account numbers so you can contribute on-line while
sitting at you PC, or you can pop down to your bank and put a cheque directly
into the account.
Many people have already set up Standing Orders for a small amount to
go directly into the account each month. It matters not how small, every
penny counts!
Alternatively you can
send a donation via Paypal using Janes' address which is jane-ellen@tiscali.co.uk
You never know when 'you' might need our help.
If you know of someone who needs help, please email jane-ellen@tiscali.co.uk
on behalf of the person concerned. Please give as much detail as you can.
The request will be put forward to a small committee of people, selected
from across the UK. Then I will get back to you.
If you are organising an Obedience Show perhaps you would keep a 'tin'
handy with the fund logo on, in a prominent position, so people can pop
their change into it.
If you are attending a show, please offer to take a tin around and collect.
Remember, this fund is to benefit 'us all'
You never know when ' your dog' might need our
help.
The Obedience world in the UK is made up of a huge family of caring people.
I know you are one of them.
Over the last few years, many of us have collected or contributed to various
requests for help. We have bought several wheel chairs for handler's that
needed them
Some hearing aid apparatus to help people to continue
in their chosen hobby when they could no longer hear a Ring Steward's
commands.
We would like to help people who may have difficulty in paying a large,
unexpected veterinary bill, or emergency kennelling if they are suddenly
rushed into hospital.
