JessBorder Collie6 months (30th Oct)Tri ColourYesMicrochippedNoWalsall
Contact: Lucy HayrehTelephone: 01543 454571
Comments: Jess came into care when her owner became homeless. She had been brought from a farm in Wales by the prvious owners parents as a gift for their son. Jess is a really clever girl and you can tell she is from working stock as she tries to round up our other 7 dogs. I want her to go to an obedience/agilty/flyball type home as she will need type of activity to keep her mantally stimulated. She also needs an experienced Collie home as she can be a handful if you're not used to Collies. She needs work on the lead as at the moment she is diving at passing cars etc. Saying all that, Jess is a really pleasant dog to have around, and with the right person training her, I think she will make a wonderful companion and hopefully a good working dog.

Foxy Border collie 18 months old tri-colourYesMicrochippedNoBattersea Dogs and Cats Home in London
Contact: Veronique Telephone: 020 76279210
Comments: Foxy is an 18 months old collie female that came into Battersea as she did not get on with the cats she lived with. Foxy is a very active girl but settles nicely when there is nothing going on. Foxy has some very good basics in place and has great motivations. She is highly trainable and keen to please her handler but can also sometimes show a rebellious side to her. Foxy needs owners that have dealt with collies before and are willing to do some work with her, also preferably to live in a semi rural environment. Foxy is extremely friendly with everyone she meets and has a real enthusiasm for life. Foxy is not suitable to live with young children but older teenagers may be considered. Foxy can be quite strong with some dogs but could live with the right match. She is a petite girl with a great temperament looking for an active loving home. If you are interested in Foxy please contact the Working Dog Coordinator at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home on 020 76279210 or email Workingdogs@battersea.org.uk

RUBYJack Russell5 year oldTri ColourNoMicrochippedNoNew Forest
Contact: Cilla / ShirleyTelephone: 02380 661914
Comments: Ruby is a super little girl, mega friendly with people, children of all ages and good with other dogs. She cannot live with Cats or small furry pets though! Ruby came in from the 'travellers'. She has been bred from and had just had her last litter leave when she was given in to be rehomed. She has been to the vet who is very happy with her general health. Ruby is a smooth coated Tri coloured female. She will need spaying in 3 months time. She is good off lead and if no bunnies are around has a great recall. She is very well behaved. Please consider Ruby as a new companion.

ALPHIEWSD2 year old ishBlack & WhiteNoNoneNoAshford, Kent
Contact: Haven KennelsTelephone: 01233 720384
Comments: RESCUE NEEDING A HOME via Haven Kennels, Ashford, Kent: ALFIE : Alfie is a typical collie, active and wanting to interact. Alfie came into this Kennels as they are also the contract pound for the local council. He has done his 7 days and this Kennel will keep them and try to home them rather than put to sleep (thank you Haven!). Alfie has been waiting for a new home and he isn't doing well in the kennels (as most collies don't). He is losing weight (been checked at Vets and all OK). Alfie is around 2 years old, loves chasing a ball, is currently entire so would need castrating in the future. He will bring a ball back to you to throw again. The Kennels have not seen any problems with him, he likes people and other dogs. He has not been tested with Children due to the nature of the place he currently is in. If you do contact the rescue about this dog, would you kindly mention you saw them on this Facebook ' Border Collies Needing Homes ' .. thank you :) Please can you offer Alfie a new home? A donation is required for this dog (minimum £50 please). Contact: Pamela at Haven on: 01233 720384

LINACollie x Springer4 years oldWhite & BlackYesMicrochippedYesRedhill, Surrey
Contact: Irish Ret RescueTelephone: giftedwheels39@aol.com
Comments: HOMING THROUGH IRISH RETRIEVER RESCUE: LINA (currently on foster in REDHILL, SURREY ): Lina is a female 4yr old, medium size, spayed Springer Spaniel x Collie. She is being rehomed due to her present owner's illness and subsequent hospitalisation as is her friend Chance. Lina is a happy lively dog, who is friendly with other dogs. She ignores the 4 cats and 2 dogs that she is living with in her home. Update from current fosterer 9th March 2010: Lina is a gorgeous tri colour sprollie. She is very slim and very agile and loves to play racey chasey with other dogs. She is very sociable with dog and is good with cats. She is lovely with children and enjoys cuddles very much. Lina is well trained, is well mannered in the house, house trained and obedient. She loves to go for walks though and be active. She has a good recall, but certainly has the Spaniel traits of investigating the undergrowth and using her nose. Indoors Lina is very pleasant, not noisy and when exercised enough she usually likes to sleep, preferably on somebody's bed. Lina was trained on Agility equipment and gets really excited and vocal in that environment. She is very fast over the obstacles and probably would make a cracking Agility dog. She is no trouble during walks, as she is fine with other dogs and ignores horses. She really is a good all rounder for an active person. Lina is a lovely, uncomplicated companion for an active home. She has no problems or hang ups. ................. If you think you could give Lina a loving and energetic home, please CONTACT: Jackie at: giftedwheels39@aol.com http://www.irishretrieverrescue.com/2010pros/lina.html

CHANCEWSD4 yearsRed & WhiteYesMicrochippedYesMid Glamorgan, Wales
Contact: Irish Ret RescueTelephone: giftedwheels39@aol.com
Comments: HOMING THROUGH IRISH RETRIEVER RESCUE: CHANCE (currently in kennels in Mid Glamorgan, Wales): Although Chance is neither Irish nor a Retriever, we are helping him to look for a special home as his owner, a very good friend to IRR, is suffering from illness. His friend, Lina is also seeking a special forever home. His distraught owner says of him "Chance is a Working Collie, he will be 4 in June 2010 but is very young for his age. Chance has HUGE amounts of energy and like most Collies does not know when to stop. He has attended obedience classes and has competed at an intermediate level. Chance thrives when he is doing obedience, he loves to "work" and needs this stimulation. Chance has done agility but he does tend to get over stimulated so needs a strong handler, however he can do all the equipment and really enjoys the interaction with his handler and the exercise. Chance has lived with dogs and bitches and cats, he is fine with children and teens although I would not recommend young children purely as his energy level is so high. REPORT FROM HIS FOSTER HOME : Ann, who is very kindly fostering both dogs says of him "Well, we have had the pleasure of Chance's company for a few days now. So here's a bit about him!! Chance is a shortcoated, red & white Border Collie, he is a lovely colour almost chocolate!! He is fully vaccinated, microchipped & neutered. He is lovely natured, gentle & very obedient, he is good on the lead & comes when called. He will even obey my 4yr old son!! He has done obedience with his previous owner. Chance loves playing and running and does get very excited, and can be vocal in expressing this!! Chance is great with other dogs, ignores my cats, and loves the children!! He will come and sit at your feet and put his paw on your lap, asking for a stroke, and looks at you with deep, dark eyes - how can you resist?!! Chance is housetrained, and travels well in the car. There must be someone that can offer this beautiful boy a loving forever home. The ideal home for Chance would be with someone that will continue doing obedience with him and who Chance can be with for most of the day." ............ If you think you could give Chance that very special home, please contact: Jackie at: giftedwheels39@aol.com http://www.irishretrieverrescue.com/2010pros/chance.html
